We believe that ground work is the foundation for a quiet, willing equine partner. Whether you want a rope horse, barrel horse, trail horse or even a show horse - the basics are the same. | Our family adopted a BLM Mustang and I went to Nebraska to pick it up. When I arrived to the facility in Elm Creek, I found 36 acres with over 500 horses needing homes. Being I had just travelled 1200 miles to get one horse, I brought 3 more home. These pages will record the progress these 4 horses make with us at Ram's Head Ranch. The horses are: "Smoke" a 3 y/o black/grullo gelding from the Choke Cherry herd, near Pioche, NV. He is my hubby's project. "Wapi" a 2 y/o bay roan gelding from the Pilot Mountain herd, near Mina, Nv. He is Gage's project. "Flash" a 2 y/o sorrel gelding w/flaxen mane/tail from the Maverick-Medicine herd, near Wells, NV. | Spirit is a 5 y/o BLM Mustang mare owned by Alan & Rose Cruze of Tucson. She arrived at Ram's Head Ranch on Sunday, 5/11/08. She was unbroke and did not lead.
